Word Living - The SIA Newsletter

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
Proverbs 6:6-8 (NKJV)

Each issue of Word Living looks at Scripture and applies it to everyday living. SIA urges readers to prayerfully meditate on any Scriptural reference featured in our newsletters until the Holy Spirit shows you a way to apply its truth to your own life.

WELCOME TO WORD LIVING
September 2020

We give praise for the opportunity to share the word of God with you.

We have sheltered-in-place, prayed, and said final goodbyes, and still the Coronavirus pandemic continues around the world.

In times like these, I am grateful that I know and trust Jesus. The fact that I would like this pandemic to end yesterday, I trust my God, for I know He always has a perfect plan. We may never see the perfect outcome, or the blessings that will come, during this season, but the God I trust is faithful and as we seek him, he will guide us to opportunities that will bless us in ways we thought were impossible even now.

When we read the Bible, we see the various life changing events that the children of Israel faced, the pain and sorrow and how God provided for them in their time of need. He is the same God yet; we struggle in the fact that He has not removed the virus nor restored us back to our norm.

Have we learned anything during this time? Is our view still self-focused?

Do we not see the opportunity to help others? To show Jesus and be thankful.

The Lord is moving, and His people are called to action. Yes, we cannot attend worship, but we can be the church in the boldness of helping others and showing and practicing our faith. Jesus spend little time in the temple. He walked among the people and provided what they needed. Jesus is our OUR PURPOSE Our purpose is to offer help to families with budgeting and planning. We assist families in obtaining knowledge and awareness of all human resources/ services available to them. We sponsor FREE seminars that coordinate various services to meet changing needs. For more information on events we sponsor visit us on FACEBOOK or our website: https:www.stewardinaction.com example. Do you see a need today? We cannot meet all the needs, but we can help as we are guided to the need. Call and check on others. Drop off needed items. Write a note, send a card just to let others know they are not forgotten. Donate to reliable organizations that help others. Even if you cannot carry a tune, your song will sound like an angle when you sing to one who lives alone.

Though we struggle in the waiting period of this virus, have you considered the time as an opportunity to have a conversation with God? I mean, we are unable to do the norm, and the Bible that provides all we need is available to guide us through and draw us to the truth of the real pandemic that has prevailed for years, that is the doing our things to please ourselves and not putting God first in our life on a daily basis. I am guilty of starting out without a thank you Lord for waking me up this morning. Yes, there are phone calls that demand running to the action in haste, but there are times when our agenda prevails, and we haste and miss the intimacy with Jesus and his direction for the day. How would you feel if you prepare a meal and the invited guest did not call or show up? I know you say, “NEVER AGAIN.” But we get up running, check the news and weather, grab some food, talk on the cell, check out the latest gossip, go to work, joke, grab something on the way home, and plan for tomorrow etc. and the love of God still provides, loves, protects, and blesses us without failure even when He is at the bottom of the list if He is there at all.

If your friend or family member did you like we do Jesus, you would…

Thank God, his love for us exceeds our understanding and simplistic rebellious spirit. While we are somewhat limited in mobility, the Bible is the greatest source of lifting the inter spirit and charging up the brain cells for action.

LESSON:

With this pandemic on going, we have been given the opportunity to show the love of God to many. The lesson notes the following:
  1. Priest – saw him but passed on the other side.
  2. Levite – member of the Hebrew tribe, who assisted the priest in worship in the temple looked on him and passed on the other side.
  3. The Samaritan, (per history, was despised by the Jews) saw the need, applied first aid, set him on his beast, brought him to the inn, paid for his stay and said if the cost is more, I will pay it when I come again. Luke 10:29-37.
The Lord was noticeably clear in the story about what we should be doing to show his love, to share the resources He has given us during this time.

One person can not do it all, but like the Samaritan, we can do something.

It does not matter what others think about us, the blessing come when we show Jesus’ love and represent our Father in action. That is our calling and He will provide all we need to accomplish the goal.

Show Jesus as a family by dropping of some can good, to the mission, cards of hope hand written to say I am praying for you, card or posters to those who are sick, ride by and blow the horn, phone calls, text messages, stand on the sidewalk and sing, tune does not matter, and ask the Lord for direction. There is so much to do, no one should be idle.

PRAY, TRUST, SHARE, LOVE, SO OTHERS SEE OUR GOD IN ACTION

Until next time, love, and much prayer - Karen

WHERE IS JESUS?

MATTHEW 25: 31-46 (Read and see how you can obey his words)

SUPPORT:
Food pantries, Shelters for the homeless, Jail and Prison Ministries, send cards to those who are sick/shut-in, and donations when possible to help with the cost of medications/and other needs, phone calls mean so much, and when possible a simple thank you note on the door, can mean so much to those who deliver mail.

Pray for all essential workers, family care givers, military personal, the poor and homeless, and the many others that work to keep us safe.

Caring for others is written throughout scriptures. When we follow the teachings of Jesus, we show his love to the world and we are blessed.
